The Cabin

Monifieth Community Cabin is our current, temporary, community facility until the MAC is open.

Until the fabulous MAC is up and running we will continue to use the Community Cabin as a wee community resource. Sited on South Union Street next to Adorn there is a handy off street car park in front of it. A portacabin which was listed for demolition eight years ago, we brought it back to life and have rented it from Angus Council ever since.

It will be demolished to make way for housing when the Invertay site is developed. We will be in our new fit for purpose centre down at the front long before that’s happened though, and Angus Council has agreed to give us breathing space if required so that our regular users don’t get stranded with nowhere to go if their plans start to move more quickly than ours.

It’s not very bonnie on the outside but inside we’ve made it an attractive and popular space.

Popular for children’s parties, fundraising events and a wide variety of activities and special interest groups who meet regularly it has proved many times over that we need a bigger place.

We could fill The Cabin two times over. The MAC will provide more than twice the space, and that space will be flexible providing us all with lots of new options.
